About Tatton Park Gardens
The gardens at Tatton have been cultivated for almost 300 years. From 1725, each member of the Egerton family who owned the estate added to them, seeking advice from leading landscape designers of the day and bringing back plants from their travels. The result is a sequence of quite different gardens set within the wider parkland.
Tatton is owned by the National Trust and run on its behalf by Cheshire East Council. The landscaped gardens cover 50 acres, and the estate also includes a mansion, a farm and extensive parkland.
