About Dundee University Botanic Garden
The University of Dundee Botanic Garden covers 9.5 hectares of gently sloping, south-facing ground above the banks of the River Tay, on the western side of the city. It is run by the university and supported by the Friends of the Botanic Garden.
The collection mixes native British plants with species from across the world. The garden's long-term future is under discussion: in 2026 local reports said the university planned to stop funding it after July 2027, and talks with other organisations about keeping it open were under way. It remains open to visitors.
